Almost five years ago I began a PhD in Religious Studies at McGill University. My major field is New Testament Studies with a minor in Leadership theory. Over the next few months I will be developing a thesis proposal as per the guidelines of the School of Religious Studies.
I am interested in the dynamics of the first-century Christian communities with respect to the leadership of the Apostle Paul, analysed from the perspective of modern leadership theory. I would like to bring the results forward to twenty-first-century Christian church congregations and look for any similarities.
At my age I am evidently not on a career path with this PhD program. Nevertheless I do hope that my work will somehow prove useful to the men and women who dedicate their lives to Christian ministry.
Check back on this post once in a while. I will be chronicling my journey in the pursuit of the PhD.
