An hour’s drive northwest from Winnipeg along the provincial trunk highway 6 brought us and our Winnipeg family to the St. Laurent sector of beautiful Lake Manitoba, the 14th largest in Canada. We stayed in a spacious and generously equipped Airbnb situated within a hundred metres of the waterfront.
This proved to be a perfect and relaxing cap to the summer season, an “energy recharge” prior to re-engaging the fast pace of autumn in the city. A three-generation family together, enjoying each other’s company immersed in the wide expanse of a peaceful and quiet place.
- Northwest on Hwy6 to St. Laurent, Lake Manitoba. A long line of tank cars on the railroad.
- Magnificent expanse – lake and sky.
- Grandchildren couldn’t wait to explore.
- Jacob my grandson, a budding biologist.
- It reminded me of equally magnificent sunsets along Manila Bay.
- The moon cast an interesting pattern on the low-lying clouds.
- Brothers getting ready for a nighttime trek.
- Nighttime at the lakeshore was magical.
- Contrasting light sources.
